On Wednesday, Indira Gandhi Jayanti, the birth anniversary of India’s first woman Prime Minister, was celebrated grandly in Jannaram under the leadership of Congress Mandal President Muzaffar Ali Khan. On this occasion, bread and fruits were distributed to patients at Jannaram Government Hospital. A large number of Congress party leaders and workers participated in the event.
Minister of Labour Vivek Venkataswamy said that it is commendable that Mancherial district has received a national-level award. On the occasion of Jal Sanjay Gen Bhaghidari receiving the National Award, the minister felicitated Collector Kumar Deepak with a shawl. The minister inquired with officials about ongoing development works in the constituency and the works yet to be completed, and directed that the development activities be sped up.
In a review meeting conducted from the State Secretariat in Hyderabad, officials were instructed to ensure that the Indiramma sarees, distributed by the state government on the occasion of Indira Gandhi Jayanti, reach every woman. It was also mentioned that the government is making efforts to promote women’s economic empowerment.
